Oh my godness!!!!!!!

October 29, 2006

  Oh my godness!……

Windows Live Spaces

Hey Spaces Fans!

We’re thrilled to announce that Windows Live Spaces has just released and we hope you’re loving it!   We’ve talked about some of the cool new features of Windows Live Spaces, but if you’re not sure where to start, here are a couple of tips:

1. Set-up your friends list.  Simply add the new Friends Module to your space, or click here to automatically add it to your space, and start inviting your friends.  Once your friends accept your invitation, they will appear to visitors of your space. You can also explore your contacts’ friends (and their friends too) directly from Windows Live Messenger.  Simply click on your contact’s Messenger icon to view their contact card, and then click on the “View this contact’s Friends list” icon on the bottom right hand corner of the contact card.  This will launch the cool new Friends Explorer feature that will allow you to easily navigate through lists of friends.

2. Add gadgets.  Jazz up your space by adding cool new gadgets.  All you need to do is click on the “Customize” link in your Space when you are in the editor mode, and then click on the link titled “Add gadgets from Windows Live Gallery” to be taken to the Windows Live Gallery where you can select gadgets you want to add to your space. Check out the “Updated Spaces” gadget we just added to The Spacecraft!  You can add this gadget automatically to your space too by simply clicking here

You will also notice that we heard your feedback on photo navigation features and have brought back the filmstrip as a result!

To find out more of the cool new features of Windows Live Spaces, check out http://discoverspaces.live.com/.  You can also check out spaces guru Mike Torres’ video, where he demos how easy it is to use the new Windows Live Spaces here

Have fun and let us know what you think of the new Windows Live Spaces!

Windows Live Spaces

July 31, 2006

他的網址竟然是 "t.spaces.msn.com" ,實在太有型了!

ID.spaces.msn.com,
spaces.msn.com/ID,

MSN Spaces will be changing in a number of important ways in the next week. Here are some of them:

Name Change: Our name is changing. Our new name is Windows Live Spaces. So, if you call us by our old name, don’t be surprised if we pretend not to hear anything. Kidding. URL Change: Our URL structure is changing.

Take a guess – the old name, MSN Spaces uses the url: spaces.msn.com. What do you think is the url for Windows Live Spaces? Yeap, no surprises there – spaces.live.com. Here’s what will change: spaces.msn.com becomes spaces.live.com, yourspace.spaces.msn.com becomes yourspace.spaces.live.com, and so on. Many of you swear by the urls you use, so I hope this is enough forewarning. However, don’t panic and change all your bookmarks; we will support all the old MSN URLs you use and more. Here are some of the urls that we’ll continue to support: ken.spaces.msn.com,spaces.msn.com/ken,spaces.msn.com/members/ken,www.ken.spaces.msn.com ,www.ken.spaces.live.com
As Mike points out in his blog, this URL change will reset your RSS readers. I apologize for the frustration ahead :-(,

1. 去掉普通標題,用圖片標題;
2. 透明文字底線;
3. 滾動條、文字間距、圖片過濾達到模糊效果;

Windows Live Spaces

Hey Spaces fans,

Windows Live Spaces is arriving soon! Not only will your Space adopt the cool new Windows Live look & feel, but you will also be able to add new and exciting functionality to your space.  With the addition of the Friends Module, you can create a place to hang out with your friends.

The Friends Explorer, which will be integrated with and accessible through Windows Live Messenger, will enable you and your friends to explore others and create new friendships.

You’ll notice some changes we’ve made to the header, including the replacement of the current text ad links with banner ads across the top.  Of course, as always, if you prefer to see no ads at all in your space, remember you always have the option to switch them off as a subscriber

In addition, your title and tagline will no longer be limited to the Spaces header.  Instead, you can choose to display the title and tagline of your space as a module and have it appear wherever you want it to in your space.  Removing the title from the header means you have more freedom and control over things like your space title and navigation to stuff in your space. Instead of always being stuck at the top, you can place them wherever you want.

The introduction of breadcrumbing and an optional new navigation module will enable you and your visitors to easily navigate through your space.

We are also going to offer many new ways to express yourself and customize your space.    You’ll be able to add mini-applications called Windows Live Gadgets developed by the community for the community.   Can’t find headlines, games, or other gadgets that reflect YOUR personality?   Build your own gadget or bribe a techie friend to do it for you!

Of course with all this great stuff, we also have to make some changes to our URL structure.  As Greg Phipps blogged about last month, your URL will be changing one final time with the switchover to Windows Live Spaces.  Don’t worry though, we are working hard to make this as seamless as possible for you and the visitors to your space.

Here’s a glimpse of what the new Windows Live Spaces will look like:

Thanks for making Spaces your home. We’re working hard to get this created for you and we hope you’re as excited as we are!

As always, we look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
The Spaces Team

MSN SPACES

June 13, 2006

  …忘記做TRACK BACK…

1. The Space Craft---Spaces Updates!

http://spaces.msn.com/<ID>
http://<ID>.spaces.msn.com."。

Stock Quotes* (股票報價)
Quote of the Day* Updated Spaces (new Map View!)

More modules coming soon including Live Gadgets.
Learn more about building a gadget
Windows Live Favorites ! (16/6
Live Gadgets)

Spaces Updates!

Hey Spaces fans, you may have noticed a change in the URL for your Space.  We’re excited to announce that we released late Monday evening (Seattle time.)

In addition to the URL Change,we have added support for many additional modules.  Some of these are:

* Available in these countries for this release:   Australia,United Kingdom,& USA

We listened to your feedback and have brought back the list of all your photo albums on the home page. When you edit your Space, you can use this list to re-order your albums: Just click on the up or down arrow that displays when you hover your mouse over the album title in the list box.

We also fixed the bug that prevented many of you from adding photos to your MSN Space.  This bug affected mainly IE 7.0 beta users  –  so test it out and upload your photos today!  Remember also that we recommend that you follow the steps defined here and here to set your browser security settings and to turn off pop-up blockers in I.E. and Norton for spaces.msn.com only so that the upload control is not blocked.  If you experience problems uploading photos – please let us know so that we can help.

With the URL change,we recognize that it will be some time while search engines re-crawl Spaces and pick-up your blog entries, lists, photos, and more at their updated URL’s.  It may also take some time for search engines and other tracking services to re-crawl links.  If you’re working on a service that crawls Spaces, please note that http://thespacecraft.spaces.msn.com is the same as http://spaces.msn.com/thespacecraft.

We’re very excited about this release since it will make Spaces faster and gives a stronger, more stable platform from which to Launch “Windows Live Spaces” soon.  Stay tuned…

Sharon

  《New York Magazine》
